Privacy
Mirel is built so that as little of your mail as possible is ever stored, and so that what is stored stays yours. This page says exactly what happens to your data.
Your own server
When you start Mirel, it creates a private server just for you, hosted by Fly.io in Frankfurt, Germany, on an encrypted disk. Your mail is never mixed with anyone else's. Mirel HQ, which creates these servers, never receives your mail.
What your server stores

| Anthropic (USA) | AI features read recent emails to sort them, summarise threads and draft replies. Anthropic's commercial API does not use this data to train models. Transfers to the USA rely on standard contractual clauses. |

Bug reports and the waitlist
If you send a bug report from the app, it goes to the Mirel team with your device model, app version and, if you choose, a screenshot. It never includes email content unless you choose to include it. Waitlist sign-ups store your email address and the role you selected, only to invite you.
Deleting your data
Remove an account in Settings → Accounts and its stored mail is deleted from your server. To delete everything, open Settings → Your data → Delete my Mirel data: your server is destroyed, including its disk and backups. You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Why we may process it
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (the contract with you), and bug reports and waitlist sign-ups because you chose to send them (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time). Mirel has no ads, no tracking and no analytics SDKs, and never sells data.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, exported or deleted, and object to or restrict its processing. Write to the address below. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local supervisory authority.
Children
Mirel is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
